Walk on in the Night

The light goes golden
It’s night’s own omen
The glow grows cold ‘n
Old roads roll home ‘n
Those bold hopes broken
Let cold thoughts close in

But too shy to be spoken
A cry that’s been woken
The hard path chosen
As barred ways open

I need time to explore
New course new detour
Always I want more

Can’t stop the light turning
I’ll keep my eyes searching
Keep my mind yearning
Live my time learning
If I’m living it large
Or making peace in my heart
I’ll walk on in the night
I’ll walk on in the night

As the day departs
Make these last rays last
Though they’re fading fast
They stay in my grasp
Replace what shined strong
embrace time to belong

As streetlights complete night
And I keep right on keep writin’
More pages uncaged
Stories made as they’re played
No heroic striving
Just my throw at surviving

I got time to explore
I got the line of this detour
Always I want more
